Work-Related Asthma

  • 10% of Michigan adults with asthma say that their asthma is work-related. [1]

  • People who work in manufacturing have highest risk of getting work-related asthma. [2]

  • The most common exposures associated with work-related asthma are isocyanates and metal working fluids. [2]

  • The rate of new work-related asthma cases is 2 times higher among blacks (5.2 per 100,000) than whites (2.6 per 100,000). [2]
